The beautiful South Devon countryside surrounds Rock Compliance Newton Abbott. The staff in this lovely location are part of a large and busy team, offering the full range of compliance services – water hygiene, air hygiene, water treatment, mechanical and electrical compliance, pre-commissioning and commissioning, and training.
Lots of members of the Rock Compliance Management Team also work out of the Newton Abbot office – could it be something to do with the ready availability of a Devon Cream Tea close by? You can be confident that whichever Rock Compliance office you deal with, as we are a national provider, you will always get the same consistently high level of customer care.
If you like markets, Newton Abbot is for you! There’s an outdoor market on a Wednesday and Saturday, a popular indoor market open Monday to Saturday, and a weekly produce market held every Friday. If shopping’s not your thing and you enjoy a flutter, you might want to visit Newton Abbot racecourse, which hosts race meetings throughout the summer.
The summers are usually hot, making this area a perfect place for a holiday. Make sure you put a bucket and spade in your suitcase, as the beaches in the area are very inviting and you’ll be close to Torquay, Brixham and Paignton, also known as the English Riviera. Winters are often very mild, so you can visit all year round. Did you know that Legionella bacteria enjoy mild weather too? They multiply where temperatures are between 20-45°C. Contact our water hygiene team for more information.
Cycling, footpaths, and wide open stretches of countryside make a visit to Newton Abbott a joy for anyone who likes being outside. The River Lemon ends in Newton Abbot, and it’s as pretty as it sounds. But if you hear a strange howl when you are out on your walk, don’t stop to find out more – in the 1960s, the Sherlock Holmes drama ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’ was filmed here, and it might be a leftover from the show that’s definitely best to avoid!
The train sequence at the beginning of the Beatles comedy ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ was filmed in Newton Abbot (so not even close to the Liverpool to London journey it was supposed to depict!).
This 1964 rock-and-roll classic is set over two days in the life of the band, as the boys struggle to keep themselves and Paul McCartney’s mischievous grandfather in check while preparing for a live TV performance.
