Preparing for COP26

SECC building in Glasgow

The UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) is being held at Glasgow’s SEC Centre from 31st October – 12th November.  There will be a huge number of road closures and diversions in place during the two week period, but Rock Compliance Scotland is ahead of the game as always, and is already working hard to make sure alternative routes are in place for all engineers travelling to see customers.

It’s a great honour for Glasgow to have been chosen to host the conference, which will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. And it couldn’t have been a more appropriate choice – did you know that Glasgow actually means ‘dear green place’? It’s the literal translation of its name from the Gaelic.  Glasgow has even set its own target for carbon neutrality by 2030 and aims to be one of the greenest cities in Europe through its Sustainable Glasgow campaign.

We are sure that being surrounded by the beautiful river, city and parks will inspire everyone attending the conference, and we join with the rest of Glasgow in welcoming people from all over the world to this important event.
