Chris says, “The thing is with my role is that no two days are ever the same! That being said, the basic premise of each day is the same, keeping customers’ water systems running safely, efficiently and compliantly and making sure we’re staying one step ahead so small problems don’t become big problems!

“Most days are spent out on site, catching up with customers, carrying out water analysis across cooling towers, steam boilers and closed loop systems, reviewing system performance and making sure treatment programmes are doing what they should. Every site is different, which keeps things interesting.

“On top of the day-to-day stuff, I’m always looking for ways to add value, whether that’s improving an existing treatment programme, introducing additional services, or identifying opportunities for new business. Typically, those opportunities just start with a chat and understanding what the customer is trying to achieve and those conversations can lead to bigger opportunities.

“For me, the role is all about building trust and strong relationships. My customers know they can pick up the phone to me for anything, from technical advice and solving a challenge to bouncing around a new idea or simply having a catchup. That’s what good account management is all about.

“My biggest achievement at Rock Compliance was securing a major water treatment contract in the nuclear industry from a much larger competitor. It’s one of the largest contracts in our portfolio, making it a significant piece of business and something I’m incredibly proud to have been involved in.

“What made it even more rewarding was achieving it alongside Mark Carr and Andrew Edgeley, two colleagues I’ve worked with for many years. It was a genuine team effort, bringing together our combined 60 years of technical expertise, strong customer relationships and a shared determination to show what we could offer.”
