Last week was Real Living Wage Week, the annual celebration of the Living Wage Movement. The event recognises and celebrates employers like Rock Compliance who continue to commit to the Real Living Wage.
This has been an important time for the Real Living Wage, with the government announcing new rates just last month. The rates were calculated by the Living Wage Foundation, the movement at the heart of fairer, better work. The foundation brings together employers, people and communities across the UK to, as it says, “shape work that works for everyone.”
Our HR Manager, Klaudia Beauchamp, was invited to attend the West Midlands Real Living Wage event. She says, “It was great to attend on behalf of Rock Compliance, which has now been a Real Living Wage accredited employer since 2022, committed to making a real-life impact by ensuring our employees are paid fairly and receive a wage that’s reasonable to live on. Having a chance to hear from people who’ve been directly affected by this movement reinforced how important it is for employers to go above the statutory minimum. It’s not just about meeting a rate, it’s about people being paid fairly for the work they do.”
