District Heating/Closed Loop Systems

Hevasure – effective building management

The energy used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) is responsible for a significant proportion of total building energy consumption. Improving the way your HVAC system works is a key step in improving sustainability and reliability. It represents a more cost-effective and environmentally-responsible approach to building management.

If you have a closed-circuit/closed-loop water system, you are probably already aware of the challenges around corrosion control. Rock Compliance is proud to be a certified partner of HVAC corrosion monitoring expert, Hevasure. Using Hevasure’s intelligent corrosion monitoring technology, we work with you to:

  • Protect your assets
  • Meet your energy efficiency targets
  • Reduce insurance premiums
  • Cut energy bills
  • Demonstrate compliance with standards BG29/2021 and BG50/2021
District heating and closed water systems

Inadequate maintenance of district heating and closed-circuit systems can result in corrosion, scale, and a build-up of sludge and deposits. This affects the water quality and chemistry.

The foulants may also coat the surfaces of the parts, increasing wear and chance of failure as well as reducing efficiency by limiting the system’s ability to transfer heat – for example, 1mm of foulant on a plate heat exchanger can increase fuel usage by up to 8%. This is not only very wasteful and expensive, but also damaging for the environment.

Mechanically, long-term damage, or even catastrophic equipment failure such as stress cracking of heat exchangers, can occur.

Corrosion monitoring 24/7

Hevasure offers a highly effective 24/7 remote monitoring system for closed-circuit water systems. The technology behind it was specifically conceived and developed to protect commercial systems from the onset of corrosion, which if left untreated can have devastating and costly consequences.

24/7 remote monitoring provides instant notification when water conditions change. This allows engineers to act quickly before corrosion or other issues take hold and become harder or even impossible to rectify. All data is stored on the Hevasure dashboard for easy reference.

Building owners, specifiers and facilities maintenance providers can all benefit from Hevasure. In addition, it is ideal for problematic sites or construction/pre-commission cleaning to ensure that buildings are handing over in optimum condition.

From build stage and beyond

Rock Compliance is committed to minimising risk, delivering compliance, and making it simple. One of the ways we achieve this is by always being proactive, looking after our clients’ assets from the build stage and beyond to prevent faults from ever occurring, rather than just reacting when they do.

Hevasure’s remote monitoring system sits perfectly within our portfolio of water treatment products and services, and we are excited to be able to bring this innovative solution to our customers across the sectors.
