Head of Operations

Looking for an exciting new opportunity? We’ve got you covered! Due to business growth, we need a Head of Operations to join our team.

💡 Job Purpose: 

Work with the Chief Operations Officer to design and implement appropriately targeted operational strategy in order to drive standard operational practice in all offices in line with business strategy.  This roles is a national role, covering all of our operational hubs across the UK.

🔍 Key Responsibilities:

 

Staff Management & Development 

  • Selection and recruitment of management team
  • Support the Operational Team’s development through performance and development reviews, identifying training needs and organising training of direct reports.
  • Responsible for productivity of the team
  • Manage Employment Relations procedures as required
  • Lead your divisions School of Rock programme

 

Operational Optimisation 

  • Work with the Chief Operating Officer in order to design and implement standard company operational process using best practice methods
  • Develop appropriate relationships with key and potential customers
  • Support the Chief Operating Officer in the development of operational processes for new service offers by understanding and interpreting Sales Strategy

 

Communication 

  • Communicate constructively and actively seek information from key stakeholders, including reportees within the Operational Division
  • Keep the Chief Operating Officer up to date with all operational activities
  • Promote a culture of two way communication within the Operational Division

 

Safety  

  • Ensure that training and development needs are identified and provided in the Operational Division
  • Wear protective items of clothing and use appropriate safety equipment when on site
  • Take responsibility for own and colleagues safety at all times
  • Lead and take control of difficult situations
  • Promote and communicate standards/information to colleagues and team members.
  • Monitor and communicate standards/information to other staff within business
  • Identify and escalate any hazards, near misses in line with the Company’s reporting procedures

 

 

🎯 Required Skills:

  • Degree level or equivalent experience
  • Substantial operational experience in a fast paced environment
  • P&L delivery in a national company.
  • Responsibility for an operational business of greater than £12M
  • Delivery to KPIs and client SLAs
  • Cost, Quality and Time parameters to ensure exceptional client delivery
  • Profit & Loss accountancy practices
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workloads
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective People Management
  • Leadership skills to inspire large groups of geographically dispersed people
  • Able to take strategic view
  • Masters level qualification (preferred)
  • Lean / Six Sigma processes and business improvement (preferred)
  • NEBOSH health & safety qualification (preferred)
  • Understanding of Water Hygiene or related industry (preferred)
